This version of our traditional handmade Bakewell Tart features a topping of flaked almonds.
The shortcrust pastry case base is filled with lashings of indulgent seedless strawberry jam topped with a pale, fluffy sponge filling of whole egg, almonds, sugar and plain flour. Our traditional handmade Bakewell Tarts come both fondant iced with a cherry or topped with flaked almonds.
