Each loaf is made daily at The Bakewell Bakery, located just a stone's throw away at Bakewell’s Riverside Works. How much do you know about the history of the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop?

We’re proud to call ourselves the “Original,” thanks to the recipe used by the talented bakers at the Bakewell Bakery. Their version is based on the very recipe that Mrs Wilson herself – the first person to popularise the sale of the puddings – allegedly acquired from the original producers and began selling in the 19th century.

Our claim to pudding fame goes beyond just the recipe, though. Our 17th-century cottage isn’t just any old building – it’s the same shop where Mrs Wilson sold her famous puddings all those years ago. Every bite of our Bakewell Pudding is a delicious slice of local heritage!
